Ronda/Charlotte, New Tag Team Coming, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley and Bayley’s Comeback
Let’s start with the update of what WWE management thought of Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair. Yes, I know JDFromNY206 calls Ronda, Ronda Drowsy. Well, many backstage were saying that they thought Ronda did good promos when she was passionate about certain things. Personally, I don’t know about that. She must not have been passionate about Charlotte Flair. She speaks better on morning TV shows.
I think Ronda doesn’t do well having to memorize a script. Sources are saying that Paul Heyman has hinted that he would be willing to help on or off TV with her like he did in her original program with Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Kurt Angle. However, what has recently caught WWE management’s attention was the actual match at WrestleMania 38. Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair was said to be awful and management was shocked that so many fans didn’t cheer and even got up to go for food or to the bathroom during it.
The Future at Backlash and Beyond
Will they do it again at Backlash? Well of course, they will because they already had it planned. But an I Quit Match? Come on, we don’t want to see this. I would rather have them put them in the octagon or at least a cage. However, many sources are saying that they aren’t sure anymore who may win. Ronda was supposed to win this match. Now, I’m hearing that it has been pitched that to reinvigorate Ronda that they are looking at making a tag team of Ronda and Shayna Baszler. Different producers and management have seen the video of Shayna and Ronda working out together and Ronda is a totally different person by actually been happy. Could we be seeing a team of MMA badasses as a tag team soon? Hmm, I hope. Will WWE blow it and make them babyfaces? Gee, I hope not. I would love to see Shayna and Ronda vs Sasha vs Naomi. Athleticism vs pure technique. Can you see The Boss telling Ms. Snap, Tap or Nap anything at all? Here, take my money for Money in the Bank. Just let the real team win.
Oh, by the way, we all know you can’t leave them alone. So go ahead and take my money for Shayna vs Ronda after you break them up and turn them against each other. As matter of fact, let’s do it at SummerSlam and the UK Premium Live Event.
Let’s stay with updates from WrestleMania 38. From what I’m hearing about Bianca Belair is that WWE management is extremely impressed with how this women is carrying herself the last year and half since her call up on the main roster. She is considered a real star and gives credit that her first year was a Bayley program, Sasha program, Bayley program, short Carmella program, supposed to be Sasha program, but turned into a Becky program. WWE management has taken notice of how Bianca has pulled off great matches with one of the horsewomen for the second year in a row. Does this mean she will get a longer run with the Raw Women’s Championship than she did with the Smackdown Women’s Championship? No, I don’t think so. I think it will be the same length of time.
Rhea Ripley since getting out of her tag team with Nikki A.S.H has been back on fans’ radar especially since the development of her tag team with Liv Morgan. In January, no one was really sure that she was going to be on the WrestleMania 38 card, but the tag team with Liv Morgan really woke the fans up. I believe WWE just threw them together for them to have something to do not knowing how they would get over.
However, did the recent Covid-19 protocol stint ruin WWE’s plans for her? Sources have said it might. WWE Creative had plans of breaking up the Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley tag team either this past Friday or Monday, so that Rhea could be placed in Edge’s new faction. She was then going to be challenging Bianca Belair. Many sources have said that they didn’t feel that Vince was happy about Rhea Ripley not being at this past Friday’s Smackdown or this past Monday’s Raw to move the story along. Therefore, a decision was said to change it to Sonya Deville (a Vince McMahon favorite) taking on Bianca. No, I haven’t heard anything about Rhea Ripley being suspended or punished because of her appearance with Buddy Matthews (former WWE superstar Buddy Murphy) who was wearing an AEW shirt on Twitch/YouTube.
So will we still see Rhea Ripley join Edge? You know I think we probably still do and it will be awesome for the 26 year old to learn from him. However, part of me wants this to have changed plans totally. I would love for Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan’s tag team to stay alive. I think they could actually take the tag team championships from Sasha Banks and Naomi allowing them to go back to singles but also still be a team occasionally. I believe that the WWE doesn’t know what they have in the team of Morgan and Ripley. Just go back to the panels with the two of them playing off each other. I think you’ll be surprised at how well they anticipate each other’s points. With a little work in the ring together (Hey BAYLEY…HELP), they could guide the tag team division through the summer and could be a great team against Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey. (See above)
Everyone always wants to know what I’m hearing about Bayley. Well, it’s always hard to find out what’s up with Bayley since Bayley enjoys trolling on social media, putting out fake leads herself and getting friends to also too. We all saw how a person put out last week while crediting Fightful that Bayley and Becky Lynch were going to be a tag team. Well, you saw Sean Ross Sapp come out immediately to say that’s not our story because WWE wanted to know what was going on. I can say that I never heard anyone say that Becky and Bayley may become a tag team, but if you aren’t going to use them in the championship picture then why not? What I am hearing is WWE Creative is arguing back and forth about whether Bayley is coming back as a babyface or a heel.
Yes, I know some of you fans want Bayley back as a babyface. I totally understand that we all want what we know or what we fell in love with when we were younger. However, let me go ahead and shoot down that she would not come back as The Hugger. It would be a different character with some characteristics. So if you are wanting a hug then doesn’t mean you are getting it unless you are a child in the post-pandemic age. But you are on Nick Khan’s side. He is wanting Bayley the merchandise pusher back. WWE enjoyed Bayley making money for them consistently with all the cups, foam fingers, headbands and shirts, etc. Plus WWE knows that Bayley will be coming back to the fans popping for her comeback from her knee surgery. They really want to capitalize on this.
However, Bayley herself isn’t sure about it and neither is Vince McMahon himself. Remember Bayley went to Vince in his office about her character change including the haircut that she unveiled. Vince felt that she was correct in realizing that her character was stale. Bayley believes that it may be too soon to go back to her babyface side. She knows that she’s more positive in her life with many of the changes she has made since being injured. But Bayley also realizes that she has a blast with her fans and her heel character. She feels that the fans get what she has been doing on social media by continuing her hellish comments to many different WWE superstars. Who will win? Who knows, but as long as they are debating it…you aren’t getting any Bayley. They need to hurry up and make a decision.
