Wells Fargo Championship: PGA Golf Tour Bets

TPC Potomac = 500 Fed Ex Cup Points

Sergio Garcia as a Dark Horse

We’re just two tournaments away from betting on the second major of the season, the PGA Championship. But this week, we are betting on the Wells Fargo Championship located in Potomac, Maryland. This championship is typically held at Quail Hollow in North Carolina, but this year we have TPC Potomac hosting. The President’s Cup will be held at Quail Hollow later this year. This course should be a somewhat familiar one with most pros playing because they played here in the 2017 and 2018 Quicken Loans National events.

TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm

The TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is one of the toughest courses on the PGA Tour that isn’t a major. It has dense thick firm greens. These sloped greens make it so the players can’t pin seek from long distances. Driving accuracy to hit the greens is so critical to stay in this tournament.

There are a strong mix of proven champions and some budding young up and comers in this field. Let’s get right to the picks. For my winner, I’m picking Rory McIIroy at (+850). I don’t think he’s as guaranteed as Jon Rahm last week though. For my top five bets, I’m picking Rory McIIroy (+250), Corey Connors (+300), Tony Finau (+500), Cameron Young (+600), and Keegan Bradley (+600).

I think you can really make money with those top five picks. However, I think the top 20 picks could be a little harder. I think maybe at least one may struggle with this tough course. For my top twenty bets, Tyrrell Hatton (-110), Matthew Fitzpatrick (-110), Seamus Power (+120), Max Homa (+140), and Abraham Ancer (+160). My dark horse this week has to be Sergio Garcia. Good luck with all your bets for this tournament.
