Pro Wrestling News, Rumors and Updates for May 26th

What is Happening Around the Wrestling Community?

Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman

Hey everyone, I’ve been missing talking to you guys. I definitely need to be writing and talking to you more. Remember you can hear all our daily sports bets, pro wrestling, sports, pop culture and paranormal podcasts on The Overtime Network on all major platforms like Spotify and Overcast. I can’t wait for us to get on TikTok. No, I will not be doing any dances, but I do expect you to send me yours after great wrestling information. So, let’s discuss something going on.

Money in the Bank Change

I told you to watch the ticket sales for Money in the Bank. Remember how we were watching the WrestleMania 37 in Dallas. Well, I’ve been watching MITB because it’s in Las Vegas on July 3rd. Do you have a clue how hot it will be in Vegas? AEW is here right now for Double or Nothing. It was 103 degrees. It’s May 26th. WWE has even sold half. Yes, I know a lot of apologists are saying it’s still 6 weeks away and no matches. I agree, but they are worried.

I believe there is a UFC fight night that weekend. No, I don’t remember who’s fighting. I’m too into the now fights to be worried about those 6 weeks away. However, it’s also the Fourth of July. WWE thought there would be a lot of out of country fans or families also going to make the trip to see the show that Vegas puts on for that holiday. One of the problems is that Vegas is expensive on weekends and especially on holiday weekends. From snooping around, I’m hearing that WWE will be announcing very soon that they are switching this show over to the MGM. Will this get you to go now?

Roman Reigns

So many fans are all bent out of shape hearing that Roman has changed his schedule. Guys, we knew this was coming. Remember Roman signed his new contract extension, I believe, it was last year. He had some time that was added to a previous contract, so the new one started after WrestleMania. You have already heard parts of it. No Hell in a Cell premium live event. Yes, he will be at Money in the Bank and SummerSlam.

From what I have been able to find out the Clash of the Castle depends on some decisions that are being made after the next premium live event. No, do not write to me and say he’s on the poster. I don’t care. Remember, Cody was in the Money in the Bank commercial that was wrong about the winner being in the main event of WrestleMania.

Now as far as live shows, Roman is going to be at the big city’s events like Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles, Chicago, Barclays, and so on. Will he be coming to Trenton, NJ? According to Roman, no as he told the fans there that he may not see them again. So if you are planning on going to a small city show then realize Roman may not be there. He has a limited dates contract just like Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar.

Money in the Bank Rumors

I’ve been telling you that John Cena is supposed to be coming back for his 20th anniversary celebration on June 13th in Wichita, Kansas or June 17th in Minneapolis, MN. Cena was supposed to do 20 dates from what I had heard. However, I’m hearing now they may be bringing him earlier than expected. But the question I have been trying to find the answer to is John Cena going to stay for Money in the Bank?

As many of you have heard, Roman will be taking on Riddle and Randy Orton at SummerSlam. I’m not sure this ends up happening. Riddle has been the name that I have heard over and over since December as a Money in the Bank briefcase winner. How does he do that if he’s playing around with Roman? So don’t be surprised if you see WWE Creative throw Shinsuke Nakamura into that spot at the last minute.

The next question that I’m trying to find out is will Brock Lesnar show up early? Are they going to wait to bring him back at SummerSlam or the fall? Originally, he was coming in after Clash at the Castle for Crown Jewel and his big Brock 20 anniversary celebration. Will Vince McMahon be able to hold his horses back if ticket sales aren’t great?

AEW Hikaru Shida

Shida is in Japan and had worked on three different shows. She had been promoting those shows on her social media and discussing how she had been doing. Then when she heard that she had been pulled from the Owen Hart Tournament because she had an injury. Immediately, Shida was upset. Usually, if a promoter is going to use an injury as the reason, then they will tell you as a wrestler. I think Hikaru Shida wasn’t told and it wasn’t discussed with her. Therefore, she was upset. She has every reason to be. I think Shida has a limited future with AEW now especially with the high travel expenses going to Japan. We’ll have to wait and see.
