Pro Wrestling News, Rumors and Updates for June 6th

What is Happening Around the Wrestling Community?

Hey everyone, well we found that John Cena will be coming back on June 27th to celebrate his 20th year in the WWE. So, part-time work and sometimes when you didn’t come back for more than a couple of episodes count?

It was said at WWE Hell in a Cell that before Cody was injured that John Cena was to be taking on Edge (who turned babyface last night, so not sure this is still taking place) with Roman Reigns taking on Randy Orton at WWE SummerSlam in Nashville. Brock Lesnar is said to be coming back also.

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes has suffered a full torn right pectoral muscle. He was originally thought to have a Grade 2 tear and WWE allowed Cody to decide whether or not to wrestle. However, after today’s MRI it was determined that he had a Grade 3 tear (full-thickness tear and ruptured muscle tendon) which WWE would not have allowed him to wrestle.

Cody will be at WWE Monday Night Raw to speak to the WWE Universe on his future. He will be having surgery on Wednesday of this week.

Cody could be out anywhere between 6 months to a year. John Cena came back within 4 months and Triple H came back within 5 months. Do not expect Cody to be back this quick due to his injury is worse than theirs. This would put Cody’s comeback between WWE Royal Rumble and WWE WrestleMania 39.

Bryan Danielson

Fightful is reporting that Bryan Danielson was forced to miss a meet and greet on Sunday. The venue told them that he was injured and unable to fly. It looks like he will be missing a week or two. AEW nor Danielson have confirmed or commented on his particular injury as of yet.

Kris Statlander Getting Pushed?

I asked many on Twitter about Kris Statlander. I was hearing on Sunday that AEW may be looking at pushing Kris Statlander to see if fans want her to beat the undefeated Jade Cargill at AEW All-In on Labor Day weekend.

Jeff Hardy and Adam Cole

It is sounding like AEW’s Jeff Hardy and Adam Cole may be out of matches this week also. They both were removed last week from what became the 8-man tag match. Jeff is said to be sore, hurt (not injured) and exhausted. Adam Cole is thought to be sitting out until June 26th’s AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door PPV with an undisclosed shoulder injury.

AEW Rampage Ratings

According to Showbuzz Daily, AEW Rampage had 475,000 viewers with 0.14 in the demo of 18–49. They ranked 14th in the demo among cable originals on Friday.

The lineup that night was: The Lucha Bros vs The Young Bucks, Athena vs Kiera Hogan, and Scorpio Sky vs Dante Martin for the AEW TNT Championship.
